Blessed

Do you feel that your life has been blessed by God? The three main blessings that people talk about are health, family and money. Now there are other blessings that you hear people talk about from time to time. Like a job (which may or may not be money related), a beautiful day or a new friend. I could go on and on but my point is this. People tend to be blessed by things of this world that make them happy. That put a smile on their faces. And all of that is good but that is not a real blessing.

A true blessing is a blessing that will never let you down, never forsake you. A true blessing is one that is yours forever. It is one that you can go to day after day and know that it is there. It is one that when life is not going right will give you the strength to carry on. You see the blessings mentioned above can let you down at some point and time because they are of the world. Your health can go south on you. Your family can disown you. Your money can be taken away from you. You can lose your job. A beautiful day can turn ugly. And a friend can turn their back on you. Every single one of these things can walk away from you. But a real blessing will never turn its back on you.

There is only one true, real blessing and it has nothing to do with our health, families or money. It is salvation through Jesus Christ. Everything else can be a blessing but they are only empty blessings without Christ. He is the only one who will never walk away from us. We can walk away from him but He will never walk away from us.

Are you really Blessed? I am.
